Michelle Stephens Jacob
Michelle Stephens Jacob is an aspiring equestrian and eventer, amateur photographer, mother, and marketing and public relations consultant. Michelle started riding as an adult five years ago focusing on dressage and has worked through the ups and downs of riding. From seeing the joy of her daughter build love and partnership with her pony to long recoveries following two serious shoulder injuries, she loves the challenge and works hard to improve everyday. Michelle bought her first horse in 2012 welcoming The Golden Ticket (Lexi), an 8yo 15.0hh Mustang from Sulphur Springs, Utah to her family. She expanded her small herd with a 9yo 14.3hh Welsh Cob x Dutch Warmblood named Little Miss Sunshine (Marigold) for her 10-year-old daughter. Her current riding goals include building her communication and relationship with Lexi, getting off the ground beginning to jump, hitting the trails when the sunshines and finally competing in her first-ever show.
Beyond riding, Michelle is a marketing and public relations consultant with 18 years experience working for leading companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Microsoft and Electronic Arts. She also works with clients in the equine industry providing media relations, marketing and promotional support, writing and photography.
Michelle spends her free time riding with her daughter, playing soccer and reading with her 8-year-old son, cooking, gardening and hiking with the family. As an amateur photographer, she has a passion for capturing the simplicity and joy of life through her camera lens. Michelle recently bought a new home and is creating a family farm named Kingfisher Farm in Carnation, Wash. with her husband and children. Michelle’s childhood was spent on the water, and every generation of boats in her family have been named “Kingfisher.” Since Michelle and her family chose horses over the water, they are carrying on the family tradition in a new way.
